Job vacancy Accountant

A Private Company, seeks qualified, certified accountants urgently! Successful applicant will have primary responsibility for accounting and financial reporting, which includes the oversight of balance sheet items, the processing of payments and enforcement of relevant financial and accounting controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data to be posted into the financial reporting system.
• Analyze and determine the appropriate accounting treatment for financial statement events.
• Ensure timely upload of accounting data into the financial reporting system on a monthly basis
• Liaise with other departments and ensure timely follow up of outstanding items
• Ensure that bank accounts are properly funded and monitored on a timely basis to prevent cash shortfalls and to allow for proper utilization of excess funds
• Assist with the processing and posting of reinsurer, policyholder and vendor payments
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including those pertaining to cash, and investigate long outstanding items
• Identify and assist with the implementation of controls and documentation of policies and procedures within the Finance department
• Manage small projects as needed.

Knowledge & Skills

• Degree in accounting preferred (minimum of bachelor's degree in accounting)
• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment
• Strong proficiency in accounting
• Quick learner

• CPA preferred
