Job Presentation
Overview

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities relating to the plant and equipment. He/she must support the activities of the various Zone Leaders and/or Supervisors in such a manner as to ensure maximum machine efficiency and useful working life of the plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing Preventative Maintenance (PM) plans for all existing and new equipment
  • Continuously reviewing these plans with input from all members of the Maintenance team so as to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and that the plans meet business requirements and objectives
  • Work closely with Zone Leaders and/or supervisors and technicians to ensure adequate Maintenance schedules are in place for each zone and are adjusted as required
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating all the maintenance activities associated with all plant and equipment
  • Updating all departments on the status on the maintenance activities in their areas
  • Assisting with the sourcing and requisitioning of required spares from suppliers and reserving parts for maintenance activities
  • Ensuring the tools and supplies in the department are managed effectively and are accounted for
  • Create the departmental performance reports at the frequency determined by management
  • Update the mechanical efficiency for the department and report daily to the department
  • Follow-up on corrective actions and all outstanding problems which occurred in the plant, with the Zone Leaders, supervisors and manager
  • Assist with the preparation of departmental budget
  • Preparation of the training plans for all employees within the department
  • Coordinate training for new employees
  • Follow-up and report on all departmental actions arising from risk assessments and internal & external audits
  • Compile monthly cost reviews and analyze with the Manager
  • Perform other reasonable job related duties as may be assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a production environment, a plus
  • Good working knowledge of bottling plant machinery and systems (air compression, steam boiling, power plant and Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration)
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and programming of the same
  • Good problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, AutoCAD)
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
