The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support services to our clients while assisting with the implementation, and maintenance of the networks, managing network IP addresses, communicating network information and requirements to connect hosts to the network, and installing, upgrading, and maintaining network routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. This role is critical to our commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of our client's IT systems.
Job Description
Key Job Duties
The incumbent must be able to:
- Maintains and manages IP addresses, DHCP servers, Domain Name Services (DNS), Radius, and other servers and software systems on both physical and hypervisor server environments;
- Maintains the integrity of the network by installing, upgrading, and maintaining network routers, switches, wireless, VPN, firewalls, and other devices at current operating system levels as provided by the manufacturer, working with vendors to diagnose and resolve network problems;
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents utilizing Government-provided Network Management System (NMS) tools and document all actions in the AIS;
- Assists with the integration, maintenance, and problem resolution of network services and wiring infrastructures by working with other networking and telecommunications staff, user support entities, vendors, and end-users;
- Ensures accurate records are kept of network components, maintenance activities, network connections, accounts, and inventory;
- Install and test LANs, work with Wi-Fi Ethernet systems or twisted pair cabling, troubleshoot LANs, update LANs with new technology;
- Contributes to the overall success of Information Services by performing all other essential duties as assigned;
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Associate of Science degree in computer network administration;
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or management information systems would be a plus;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a network analyst, or similar
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently
Additional information
- Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and network installation techniques.
- Exceptional ability to provide network support and resolve errors.
- Extensive experience with IP infrastructure, Inter-Network Operating Systems such as Cisco Systems and Juniper.
- Advanced knowledge of network setup and security.
- Must have the right to work in the Bahamas.
