ELECTRICAL ENGINEER:

DESIGNING AND IMPROVING ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS ESTABLISHING MANUFACTURING PROCESSES. EVALUATING THE SYSTEM'S SAFETY, RELIABILITY, AND PERFORMANCE
General Purpose/ Functions

Electrical Engineers work in diverse industries and are responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, repairing, analyzing, and troubleshooting all types of old and modern electric equipment, circuits, and systems. They also assist with research, design, and development of new electrical systems. The typical work activities include: installing and testing company products, devices, and energy management systems; monitoring and testing to ensure proper functionality or other requirements indicated by the company, our suppliers, or manufacturers. Electrical Engineers report to the Director.

General Electrical Engineer Duties and Responsibilities


  • calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical instruments
  • providing technical assistance to resolve electrical problems
  • assembling electrical and electronic systems using hand tools
  • Installing and operating test equipment to evaluate their performance
  • reviewing existing electrical or electronic systems to identify the need for amendments
  • Conducting inspections of electrical systems for quality control (if required)
  • Installing and maintaining electronics and electrical systems
  • writing procedures for installing electrical equipment (if needed)
  • assisting with product manual writing (if required)
  • participating in the development or testing of electrical devices
  • selling electrical or electronic products
  • maintaining smooth and appropriate distribution and utilization of power in a facility (if required)
  • attending to customer complaints and repairing or replacing the existing electrical systems
  • personal transportation is necessary during work hours (9 am-5 pm)
  • may be required to work weekends or overtime
  • may be required to travel
  • Willing to perform other tasks as assigned by the Director in line with engineering duties
  • Committed to being on time
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
  • possess a degree in Electrical Engineering
  • possess a thorough grounding in electrical engineering sciences
  • possess well-rounded knowledge of electrical systems, devices, motors, and circuits
  • possess an understanding of testing and troubleshooting electrical power systems
  • possess experience in producing electrical drawings, and diagnostics and analysis of electrical systems
  • Possesses hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical devices, machines, systems, and equipment.
  • Must possess basic IT knowledge
  • Experience with electrical generation equipment or operations a plus
  • Renewable energy, solar, and energy conservation knowledge and experience are a plus
